A tragic traffic accident on Monday claimed the life of Mr. Adeyeye, a teacher at Pobuna Secondary School in Epe, and left several others injured.
Ekohotblog gathers that the incident occurred when a trailer, reportedly traveling on the wrong side of the road, collided with a bus carrying teachers returning from a verification exercise in Alausa, Ikeja.
Witnesses at the scene described the accident as devastating, with the trailer speeding recklessly before crashing into the bus.
An eyewitness recounted, “The trailer was speeding on the wrong side of the road, and the bus driver couldn’t avoid the crash. It was terrifying.”
The teaching community has been thrown into mourning following the untimely death of Mr. Adeyeye.
Colleagues and students remembered him as a dedicated and compassionate educator.
“He was a father figure to many students and a passionate teacher,” said Mr. Orekoya, a fellow teacher also a victim.
The injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving treatment for various injuries
The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and assured the public of a thorough investigation.
“This incident is a stark reminder of the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws.
We will ensure this case is investigated and measures are taken to prevent future occurrences,” a ministry spokesperson said.
