Epe Unity, Key to Progress, Sustainable Development – Hon Adebola
By: Samson Daniel
The President of Epe Club, Honourable Adebola Rasheed Shabi, has called for unity within the community, describing it as sacrosanct for the development and progress of the Epe region.
Hon. Adebola, who is also a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Lagos Mainland Constituency 2, made this call during the 50th anniversary celebrations of Epe Club on Friday, December 20, 2024.
Speaking with EKO HOT BLOG, the Lagos lawmaker stressed the importance of sustained unity and love among the people of Epe, particularly as the festive season approaches.
He said, “My message to our people is that we must come together to ensure peace, especially during this festive season. Christmas, which celebrates the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, should be a time of love and unity. There should be no conflicts among us, and I urge drivers to be cautious and refrain from drunk driving.”
Hon. Adebola further reflected on the club’s foundation, recalling that it was established 50 years ago, in 1974, to create a harmonious environment that would foster sustainable unity and love among the communities of Epe Division.
“Epe Club was born out of a desire to bring the people of Epe together, regardless of background, and to create an environment where unity and love could flourish. Over the last five decades, this vision has remained at the heart of our community,” he said.
Speaking further, Hon. Adebola also advised the youth to avoid social vices, particularly drug abuse, warning that it could jeopardize their future.
“To the youth, do away with drugs! Drugs will not lead you anywhere; they will only destroy your future. The future of this country is in your hands, but when you start taking drugs, you lose control over that future.
“You are throwing the future of this country away. So, I implore all the youth of this division to abstain from drugs because we are blessed with bright and promising young people in Epe,” he added.
