Eko Hot Blog The Epe Youth Forum orchestrated an exhilarating day of football camaraderie as four major community teams clashed in a Friendly Football Match on August 2, 2023. The event unfolded against the scenic backdrop of King Kosoko Embarkment Point, Marina, Epe, as the local football talents showcased their skills.
The participating teams, Popo-oba FC, Moscow FC, Timo FC, and Ori-Iyepe FC, created an electrifying atmosphere. Divided into Team A and Team B, the stage was set for an unforgettable showdown.

The battle began with Team B, with Timo FC and Ori-Iyepe FC stepping onto the field with determination. Edu Babatunde led Timo FC as captain, supported by an ensemble including Ogunkoya Oluwatobi in goal, and a lineup comprising Olowo Yumusa, Gafar Shabi, Olatunji Sodiq, Alen Idris, Obire God’s power, Abraham Naseri, Ridwan Kekere-ekun, among others. Igbuan Timothy took the reins as their coach.
Ori-Iyepe FC, led by captain Lukman Oriyomi and featuring talents like Odudu Rasaq in goal, displayed exceptional teamwork. Their roster boasted names such as Anifowoshe Sheriff, Quadri Abiodun, Jacob Segun, Baruwa Olayinka, Ibrahim Rasaq, Tayo Adeleke, Alawei Ekusaemi, Odeyinka Wale, Raji Ibrahim, while substitutes Abrahim Bright, David Monday, and Abaniwanda Tayo remained ready for action. Their coach, Killa Abiodun, expertly guided their strategies.
The match kicked off on an intense note, with Ori-Iyepe FC dominating possession. Jacob Segun’s precise strike secured the first goal for Ori-Iyepe FC, igniting their campaign. Timo FC, however, exhibited resilience, answering back with a swift goal from Gafar Shabi, equalizing the score at 1-1. The momentum continued with Ori-Iyepe FC, clinching their second goal just moments before halftime, seizing a 2-1 lead.
After a rejuvenating 10-minute intermission, the second half commenced with Timo FC renewing their efforts. Alen Idris’s well-executed shot found the net, leveling the score at 2-2. Both teams defended steadfastly, ensuring a deadlock by the final whistle, necessitating a dramatic penalty shootout.
The penalty shootout became the defining moment, as Timo FC and Ori-Iyepe FC engaged in a nail-biting contest. Ultimately, Timo FC emerged triumphant, securing a 3-2 victory through penalties, with Gafar Shabi’s decisive kick clinching the win. This marked the end of an enthralling battle for Team B.
As the dust settled, Moscow FC’s journey through the tournament stood out. Their stellar performance led them to a thrilling final showdown against Timo FC, which concluded with Moscow FC clinching victory in a heart-stopping penalty shootout. Moscow FC’s triumph capped off a day filled with sportsmanship, passion, and community unity.
