EPL 2020/2021 Season Kicks Off Sept 12

The 2020-2021 English Premiership League will start on September 12.

The season is slated to end on May 23, 2021, EPL stated.

The date for commencement of the new season is a departure from what happened in the past where the new league season started in the first or second week of August.

But the COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected every imaginable sector, has altered that tradition this season. The league was stopped in March due to the pandemic and safety concerns of the footballers and other stake holders.

The league, however, returned in July following three months break and it’s expected to end on Sunday.

The decision to start the new season in September might not be unconnected to the need to give players, who had to play many matches in few days, an ample time to rest and be in good shape for the new season.
