EPL: 26 Premier League Records That Could Be Broken This Weekend

  • The Premier league continues this weekend with games scheduled to complete the Matchweek 29 game week.
  • One of the things that makes the game fun especially in the premier league, is the records and mostly the rivalry.
  • As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, Here are possible 26 Records that could be broken this weekend;

(1.) Leeds have lost only one of their last nine Premier League home matches against Chelsea.

(2.) Marcelo Bielsa’s side have lost consecutive PL contests for the fifth time this season, and are seeking to avoid losing three league encounters in a row for the first time since November 2017.

(3.) Chelsea have won five of their six away matches in all competitions under Thomas Tuchel, and are unbeaten in nine PL contests under the German.

(4.) The Blues are aiming to avoid losing at a promoted club in four successive PL seasons for the first time, having lost at Newcastle United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield United over the last three campaigns.

Chelsea have drawn at West Bromwich Albion and won at Fulham so far this term.

(5.) Crystal Palace have won three of their last four Premier League meetings with West Brom (D1), winning 5-1 at The Hawthorns in the reverse fixture.

(6.) Sam Allardyce will be the second PL manager or head coach to face three former clubs in a row (Everton, Newcastle United and Palace) after Roy Hodgson did so in August 2018, facing West Brom, Fulham and Liverpool when in charge of Palace.

(7.) After a run of eight league matches between December and February in which they conceded at least twice, West Brom have shipped just two goals in their last five in the competition.

(8.) Against no side has Everton’s Alex Iwobi been involved in more PL goals than he has against Burnley, with two goals and two assists, accounting for 13 per cent of his 31 total goal involvements in the competition.

(9.) Burnley are aiming to win at both Merseyside clubs in one season for the first time, following their 1-0 triumph at Liverpool in January.

(10.) Six of Burnley’s 20 PL goals this season have come in the opening 15 minutes of matches, with no side netting higher than their 30 per cent return in that time.

(11.) Fulham can become only the second Premier League team to beat the champions and leaders in consecutive matches, following their 1-0 victory at Liverpool, after Everton defeated Chelsea and Manchester United in February 2010.

(12.) The Cottagers have won three of their last six PL contests (D2 L1), more than they had in their previous 24 in the competition (W2 D9 L13). They have also kept five clean sheets in their last seven league encounters, one more than in their first 21 this term.

(13.) Man City have won their last six meetings with Fulham, scoring 18 times without conceding, and have lost just one of their 13 trips to Fulham (W7 D5), suffering a 2-1 defeat in November 2005.

(14.) In a run going back to April 2018, Man City’s Raheem Sterling has been involved in 16 goals in 16 PL starts in London (10 goals and six assists), netting the winner against Arsenal in the last encounter in the capital.

(15.) Southampton are unbeaten in all seven of their Premier League meetings with Brighton, their best 100 per cent record.

(16.) Saints have kept a clean sheet in all five of their PL home wins so far this season.

(17.) Adam Lallana can be the 24th player to score both for and against Southampton in the Premier League.

(18.) Brighton have not lost four successive Premier League fixtures since April 2019.

(19.) Arsenal have lost only two of their last 35 home league encounters with Spurs.

(20.) With 38 goals this fixture has produced goals by both teams more often than any other fixture in the PL.

(21.) Spurs can go six matches unbeaten against Arsenal in all competitions for the first time.

(22.) Gareth Bale’s five PL goals against the Gunners are the most he has scored versus any side in the competition.

(23.) Man Utd can claim a Premier League double over West Ham for the first time since David Moyes was their manager in 2013/14.

(24.) Man Utd can keep four consecutive league clean sheets under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the first time.

(25.) West Ham can become the fourth London club to win at Man Utd this season, which would be a PL first.
