EPL: Arsenal Keep Pressure on Liverpool with Hard-Fought Win Over Ipswich
Arsenal surged into second place in the Premier League table on Friday night following a crucial 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town, courtesy of Kai Havertz’s first-half strike.
The Gunners entered the match knowing that three points would propel them above their nearest rivals in the standings, and they delivered a performance of control and resilience to achieve that goal.
The decisive moment came in the 23rd minute when Havertz found himself unmarked in the box to calmly slot home a pinpoint cross from Leandro Trossard.
Despite dominating possession and creating several chances, Arsenal were unable to extend their lead before halftime.
The second half saw Mikel Arteta’s side manage the game efficiently, holding off any threat from Ipswich and ensuring a clean sheet to secure the win.
With this result, Arsenal now sit on 36 points, narrowing the gap to league leaders Liverpool to six points, though the Merseyside club still has a game in hand.
