Chelsea and Nottingham Forest have been charged by the Football Association for failing to control their players following a mass confrontation during Sunday’s Premier League match at Stamford Bridge.

However, no disciplinary action will be taken against Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson, who was seen appearing to slap Forest’s Morato during the clash between players from both teams towards the end of the 1-1 draw.

Tensions escalated after Forest’s Neco Williams appeared to push Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella off the pitch.

The incident involving Jackson and Morato was reviewed by the video assistant referee during the match.

“It’s alleged that both clubs failed to ensure their players didn’t behave in an improper and/or provocative way around the 88th minute,” the FA said in a statement.

Both clubs have until Thursday to respond to the charges.

Three players received yellow cards during the altercation: Williams for Forest, and Cucurella and Levi Colwill for Chelsea.
