Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate has voiced his frustration after suffering a knee injury that will see him miss Sunday’s crucial Premier League clash against Manchester City.
Konate sustained the injury in the final moments of Liverpool’s 2-0 Champions League victory over Real Madrid, following a collision with Brazilian forward Endrick.

The French centre-back’s solid performances have been instrumental in Liverpool’s impressive start under manager Arne Slot.
With eight points separating them from second-place Man City, Liverpool is leading the Premier League and remains perfect in the Champions League, having won all five of their group-stage matches.
Konate has featured in every Premier League and Champions League match this season, starting after replacing Jarell Quansah at halftime during the opening game at Ipswich.
While Liverpool has not confirmed how long Konate will be out, reports suggest he could be sidelined for up to six weeks.
“So frustrating to pick up this injury right at the end of a great game on Wednesday night,” Konate wrote on Instagram.
“Now we start the recovery process but one thing I promise is I will come back and be the best I can be once again. Thank you for the amazing support at Anfield.”
England international Joe Gomez is expected to deputise for Konate ahead of Quansah.
