EPL: Man Utd Players ‘Question Rangnick’s Decision To Keep Playing Maguire’ Ahead Of Derby Clash

• Man Utd players have started to question Ralf Rangnick over his continued faith in Harry Maguire.

• The United interim boss has stuck by his captain in recent weeks, defending him when speaking to the press and selecting him to play when available.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that some members of the United squad are beginning to get frustrated as they feel Maguire’s performances have not been good enough.

And they have made their feelings known on the training ground at Carrington.
Maguire has been heavily lambasted by sections of the United fanbase this season, with his performances against Burnley and Atletico Madrid since returning from injury.

In October one United player reportedly questioned Maguire’s selection as captain after the embarrassing 4-2 defeat to Leicester.

But Rangnick has stood by him and is confident he can be a key player as the Red Devils aim to reach the latter stages of the Champions League.

He said: “Harry was injured. He came back and had a good game against West Ham and I am pretty sure he can play at the same kind of level.

However, some of his teammates “have aired their grievances among themselves at the club’s Carrington training ground” and that they “felt some of the defender’s performances did not meet the club’s standards”.
