With just one win in their last five games, United’s lackluster form has fueled growing doubts about Ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford.

The pressure has intensified after a 3-3 Europa League draw at Porto, where United squandered a 2-0 lead, and a crushing 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. Reports suggest that the club’s leadership is seriously considering a change in management.
According to an ESPN report published last Monday, Ten Hag’s position has become increasingly precarious following the loss to Spurs.
The report suggests that his future hinges on the outcome of both the Europa League tie against Porto and the Premier League clash with Aston Villa, warning that “there is now a real possibility that Ten Hag is entering the final days of his reign as United manager.”
Further speculation has emerged, with the Manchester Evening News reporting on Monday that former Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel is being considered as a potential replacement if United decides to part ways with Ten Hag.
A key meeting is scheduled for Tuesday in London, where Manchester United officials will reportedly discuss Ten Hag’s future amidst the club’s poor start to the season.
Despite the growing uncertainty, Ten Hag, who took charge in 2022, remained composed when questioned about his position after the draw at Villa Park. He is expected to meet with board members in the coming days to address the team’s struggles.
He stated, “We communicate very openly and transparently. I talk with the club’s officials daily, and after every game, I focus on my job with the players. I expect to have discussions with the hierarchy soon.”
Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel, who departed Bayern Munich at the end of the 2023 season, is currently a free agent and could take over immediately if Manchester United decides to make a change.
The club had previously considered Tuchel during the summer as they evaluated their options after a disappointing Premier League campaign.
As fans and pundits eagerly anticipate the outcome of Tuesday’s meeting, the pressure on Ten Hag continues to intensify, with the Reds potentially facing a mid-season managerial overhaul.
