Rooney Reveals How Man United Can Defeat Man City At Etihad Stadium

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the former football player, Wayne Rooney ahead of today’s English Premier League (EPL) match between Manchester City and Manchester, has revealed how the Red Devils can have a higher chance of defeating the hosting team.

This online media platform gathered that United will be playing their 7th 2022/2023 EPL match of the season against Pep Guardiola‘s men today at the Etihad stadium.

Hours ahead of the clash, Rooney who was a former Red Devils, said Eric Ten Hag’s men may get an upper hand in winning the match if they can play out City’s top striker, Erling Haaland.

The English Association Football Manager observed that Man City now put a lot of goals into their opponent’s post since Haaland was added to Guardiola’s formidable squad.

Rooney, however, is optimistic that United could have a big chance of winning the game. Naija News understands that Haaland has so far netted 14 goals in 10 appearances for City.

Rooney feels there is a way his old side can stop the 22-year-old who already has 11 goals in just seven Premier League games. The former striker said: “If United can play Haaland out of the game, they’ll have a big chance.

“But it’s easier said than done,” the DC United manager said, adding that City still has the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez, who according to him, could be a big factor.

“I think Pep Guardiola will start with him. With United having a left back, Tyrell Malacia, who is left-footed, I can see Pep using Mahrez on the right to try to come inside and expose Malacia on his right foot,” Rooney told The Times during an interview.
