EPL: What Emery Said After Arsenal’s 1-1 Draw With Wolves
Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, has claimed his tactics worked perfectly despite being held to a 1-1 home draw by Wolves.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang struck his 50th goal for the club, but Raul Jimenez’s 76th minute header earned a point for the visitors.
Wolves registered 25 shots, compared to Arsenal’s 10. Yet Emery insisted his tactical plan had the desired effect.
He told BT Sport: “It’s a bad result, but tactically it worked how we wanted.”
Arsenal could be 10 points off the top four pace should they lose at Leicester next weekend and results elsewhere go against them.

“It’s not a good result for us, we tried. We couldn’t impose our game plan in 90 minutes,” Emery added.
“When we started at 1-0 it was a very good moment to take confidence and to use it to try and score the second goal.
“Really, we didn’t concede a lot of chances but the match for me was equal for two teams and if you don’t score the second goal you are in the possibility also that they can score.
“The reaction was good, more pushing and better opportunities to score. But in the end a draw is not good for us.”
