Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), under the tutelage of Hon. Monsuru Akinloye, recently launched a 4000-litre borehole with a generator set at Lekan Odupe Street, Iray-Oke community, in its bid to improve access to potable water and enhance the quality of life for residents of the community.
Ekohotblog gathers that the commissioning ceremony, held on Monday, 24th December, was attended by community members and dignitaries, including Hon. Sulaiman Odubanjo, Deputy Leader of the Eredo LCDA Legislative Arm, who represented the Executive Chairman.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Odubanjo emphasized the importance of maintaining the project for its sustainability.
“This borehole is a significant investment in the well-being of our people.
I urge all residents of Lekan Odupe Street to use it responsibly and ensure it remains functional for years to come,” he said.
He further highlighted the administration’s dedication to prioritizing the needs of the people.
“This project is a testament to the Akinloye-led administration’s commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy.
We will continue to roll out initiatives that address the core needs of our communities, such as water, electricity, and improved infrastructure,” he added.
Moreso, community leaders and residents expressed their gratitude for the project, describing it as a much-needed intervention.
Speaking on behalf of the residents, a community elder, commended the council’s efforts.
“This borehole is a game-changer for us. We have long faced challenges with access to clean water, and this project has brought great relief.
We are deeply grateful to the Eredo LCDA for this initiative,” he said.
