Ekohotblog reports that the Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has taken decisive steps to address the ongoing power outage in the area.
On December 2, 2024, he held a meeting with officials from the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) to fast-track the restoration of electricity.
During the meeting, Hon. Akinloye assured residents that all requirements had been met to enable the immediate restoration of power. He promised that electricity supply would be fully restored by Friday, December 6, 2024.
“We have worked closely with PHCN and completed all necessary processes. I assure you that the power supply will return within days,” he said.
In addition to addressing the electricity issue, Hon. Akinloye has partnered with security agencies to protect public infrastructure from vandalism.
He held a strategic meeting with representatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Army, Muwon Vigilante Group, Eredo Security Forum, and other security organizations. This collaboration is aimed at safeguarding electricity cables and other public assets.
Hon. Akinloye also urged residents to take responsibility for protecting government infrastructure.
“Our development depends on these facilities. Damaging them for personal or political reasons only sets us back. I appeal to everyone to join hands in protecting what belongs to all of us,” he stated.
The chairman called on the community to be patient and supportive as the council works to resolve the power challenges.
“We are committed to improving the lives of our people, and I thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this period,” he added.
