Ekohotblog reports that the Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has started work on a new concrete drainage culvert along Itun-Odo Street in Odo-Iragunshin.
The drainage, measuring 1 meter by 1 meter, is to help stop flooding in the area during heavy rains, allowing water to flow away more easily.
The team has started digging, laying a foundation, and setting up reinforcement bars to support the structure.
“We know how much flooding has affected this community,” said Hon. Akinloye. “This new drainage system will help keep our streets safe and accessible, even in the rainy season.”
This project also complements the Lagos State Government’s larger drainage system that was built along Otedola Avenue, also in Odo-Iragunshin, as both projects work together to control flooding in the area.
Residents are grateful for the improvements. “Flooding here has been a serious problem.
I’m glad to see this drainage work happening,” shared Mr. Banjo, a local shop owner.
