Eko Hot Blog reports that Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, Eredo LCDA Chairman, on Thursday, made an ‘Oliver Twist’ sentiment, thanking Hon. Wale Raji, the member representing Epe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, for facilitating three transformative projects, while signaling the community’s desire for further development.

Akinloye spoke during the inauguration of the Iraye Primary Healthcare Centre, a strategic 1km road in Odosiwola with solar streetlights, and 83 new stalls at the Mojoda Market, all within Eredo LCDA.

The Eredo LCDA chairman, who has initiated numerous projects on his own to enhance development in the area, described Raji’s intervention as “life-changing.”

“With these life-changing projects facilitated by Hon. Wale Raji, Eredo LCDA is moving from a rural area to an urbanized area,” he said.

“We give thanks to God almighty for giving us Hon. Tasir Wale Raji as our representative at the House of Representatives. We are very pleased with him, we are proud of him. Out of his numerous projects that he has facilitated, we are commissioning three today.”

On the Iraye Healthcare Centre, Akinloye spoke about the lawmaker’s intention to facilitate another phase, adding that the community needs more.

“According to Hon. Wale Raji, it cost over 100 million and he said this is just the first phase of what he intends doing. I don’t have anything to say than to thank him and want him to do more. We still need more, Eredo people are proud of him, but like Oliver Twist, we still need more,” he said.

“He’s making my job at the local council area easier for us, shops are under the local government, and for him to bring this, is a succor to my people, it’s a succor to the local government. We thank God for giving us Hon. Wale Raji. I say big thank you to him.”

Akinloye also acknowledged the Deputy Governor of Lagos state, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, for his presence despite a demanding schedule.

He concluded his address by recognising reporters for their diligent coverage of the event.

On his part, Raji said he sought political office to make significant impact in the lives of people.

He noted that the will to give back to society is what motivates him everyday to provide robust representation for the people of Epe Federal Constituency.

“People seek public office for different reasons; some for financial rehabilitation, some for career rehabilitation, but to the glory of God, I was accomplished and successful before seeking public office,” the lawmaker said.

“I was a civil servant and rose to become the permanent secretary for 11 years and 9 months. I decided to take voluntary retirement to take up the position. I had a mission, the mission of impacting positively on the lives of my people. I see it as an opportunity to give back to the society that made me, and whatsoever we do, we do it for posterity.

“I decided to contest the election to the House of Representatives, and I assured my people that we are going in to redefine representation. Wale Raji is different from every other representative in Epe federal constituency, and that statement can be made through the quality of our representation.”
