Ekohotblog reports that Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) is set to launch a special training program in lawn tennis and basketball aimed at equipping young people in the community with new sports skills, promoting physical activity, and fostering talent development.
In preparation for the initiative, the Supervisor for Agric, Youth, and Sports, Mr. Adelaja Adekunle; the Special Adviser on Agric, Youth, and Sports, Mr. Azeez Adetomola; and the Chief of Staff, Mr. Sikiru Oladega, visited the Odo-Egiri Sports Centre to inspect the facilities.
Speaking about the program, Mr. Adelaja Adekunle remarked, “This training is a great way to engage our youths in meaningful activities. Sports help build character, teamwork, and discipline, and this program will help them grow.”
Mr. Azeez Adetomola highlighted the program’s importance, stating, “We are giving our young people the chance to learn from skilled coaches and improve their abilities. This is a step towards creating future sports stars in our community.”
The Chief of Staff, Mr. Sikiru Oladega, further emphasized the council’s commitment to youth development, saying, “This initiative is part of our efforts to support youth development. We look forward to seeing many young people take part in this program and benefit from it.”
The training program is expected to inspire youth participation, nurture talents, and contribute to the overall development of the Eredo community.
