Eric Chelle Sets To Arrive Nigeria With Three Assistants

  • New Super Eagles Coach Eric Chelle Prepares to Storm  Nigeria
  • Chelle to sign dotted lines up on arrival
  • New gaffer to arrive with three assistants

New Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, is set to arrive in Nigeria on Sunday to officially sign his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and begin work as the substantive coach of the senior national team.

Chelle will be accompanied by three of his trusted assistants. These assistants worked closely with him during his time as head coach of the Mali national team and his recent stint with Algerian club, MC Oran.

The 47-year-old coach was announced as the new manager of the Super Eagles by the NFF on Tuesday. He now faces a major challenge: guiding the team to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in Canada, Mexico, and the USA.

The Super Eagles currently have a tough road ahead in the qualifiers. They are winless in Group C after four matches, which puts their World Cup hopes in jeopardy. Chelle’s first task will be to turn things around for the team when the qualifiers resume in March. The team’s next game will be an away match against the Amavubi of Rwanda.

The Nigerian fans and football community have high expectations for Chelle, who is known for his modern coaching style and ability to rebuild struggling teams. Many hope he will bring fresh ideas and a winning mentality to the Super Eagles.

The NFF’s decision to hire Chelle reflects their desire to improve the team’s performance after recent disappointing results. Chelle’s experience with Mali and MC Oran gives him valuable insights into African football, which could help him succeed in his new role.

As he prepares to start his journey with the Super Eagles, all eyes will be on Chelle to see if he can restore the team’s pride and lead them to the 2026 FIFAWorld Cup.
