EKO HOT BLOG reports that Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag has refused to confirm whether new signing Antony will be in the United squad to take on Arsenal this weekend.
United are now up to fifth in the table with the win over Leicester having found a way to pick up victories.
United secured a third consecutive win on Thursday night by beating Leicester 1-0 at the King Power, courtesy of a goal from Jadon Sancho.
But the big news on Thursday was the confirmation of the signing of Antony from Ajax in a deal worth £86million, and there have been talks that the 22-year-old winger could feature against top of the league Arsenal when they visit Old Trafford on Sunday.
‘We will have to see,’ Ten Hag teased on BT Sport when asked about that possibility.
He did today his first training and then we have two more team sessions and then we will have to see for Sunday.
Of course I am really excited, a really good signing. He will bring temperament, creativity, fighting spirit and we need quality in numbers in the offensive department.
‘That [Arsenal] is the real test for us, we are looking forward to it. We have to be good, we know that and it is a good test to see where we are.’
While the victory against Leicester was far from perfect, United look to be making great progress under their new manager and the Dutchman believes his team will only get better.
Ten Hag also stressed that Cristiano Ronaldo and Casemiro will play a big role in his side after being benched once again against the Foxes.
He added: ‘We showed good team spirit. We had 11 players on the pitch who fought for each other and scored a lovely team goal.
Still, there is improvements to make but that is normal at this stage of the season. There were many spaces that we did not exploit that well. With better decisions we should have scored a second goal, we have to be more ruthless.
‘We need a good squad and we needed numbers. There are a lot of games to cover. Once we have Cristiano Ronaldo and Casemiro getting fitter it will get better still – we need not only a team we need a squad.
‘Casemiro has to get used to a different league. He has achieved everything that you can imagine. Now he is in a different league and we want to give him the minutes to adapt to that, to his team-mates and the style of football.’
