EKO HOT BLOG reports that Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has disclosed that he met with Sir Alex Ferguson, the legendary former manager of the club, prior to their Europa League tie against Barcelona on Thursday.

The Dutchman shared a photo of himself and Ferguson having dinner on Tuesday night and spoke about the valuable experience of being able to tap into the Scotsman’s wealth of knowledge and experience.

Ten Hag said, “It’s massive. I always enjoy speaking with people who have a lot of knowledge, a lot of experience and he wants to share it, he wants to help and support.” He added, “Manchester United is his club and he feels so committed. We are doing well. It was a great night and I look forward to the next night with him.”

Ten Hag, who previously managed Ajax Amsterdam, has been phenomenal in his first season at Manchester United, leading the club to their first cup final. He also led Ajax to the knockout stages of the Europa League before taking up his current role.

Manchester United will face Barcelona in the second leg of their last 16 tie on Thursday, and will be looking to secure a place in the quarter-finals. The first leg between the two teams ended in a 2-2 draw at Camp Nou.
