Eriksen Banned From Playing Football In Italy Due To Cardiac Arrest

• Christian Eriksen has been banned from playing in Italy due to his medical condition
• He suffered a cardiac arrest in June during the match between Denmark and Finland

Ekohotblog reports that Inter Milan star Christian Eriksen has been banned from playing football in Italy due to his present health condition owing to the cardiac arrest he suffered during Euro 2020.

The midfielder suffered a life threatening condition while on international assignment with Denmark at their Euro 2020 match against Finland.

He has since had a cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) device implanted in his body.

A member of the Italian Football Federation’s technical-scientific committee, Francesco Braconaro, said Eriksen will not be allowed to play in Italy unless the ICD device is removed.

Inter has now confirmed their stance.

“With reference to the registration rights of the player Eriksen, it should be noted that following a serious injury which occurred during the European Championship in June 2021, the player has been temporarily inhibited by the Italian medical authority from sporting activity in the current season.

“Although the current conditions of the player don’t meet the requirements of achieving sporting fitness in Italy, the same could instead be achieved in other countries where the player could resume competitive activity,” the statement read.”
