EKO HOT BLOG reports that Erling Haaland, the Manchester City striker, has equaled the Premier League’s single-season goal record by scoring his 34th goal of the season in Sunday’s game against Fulham. Haaland scored from the penalty spot in the third minute of the match at Craven Cottage, matching the record set by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole in previous seasons.
Shearer scored 34 goals for Blackburn Rovers in 1995, while Cole hit the same tally for Newcastle United in 1994. Haaland’s goal was also his 50th for Manchester City in all competitions since he signed from Borussia Dortmund last year.
