Eternal Care Foundation Hosts First Annual Anniversary and Awards

International civic organization, Eternal Care Foundation on Thursday marked its first annual anniversary and awards with an aplomb as members and stakeholders came together to celebrate the group’s tremendous contribution to the cause of humanity over the course of the past year.

 

The ceremony, which held at Celebration Gardens Events Centre, Ikeja, on Thursday, 19th October 2020, played host to top government functionaries across Lagos State who have constituted the major players in the organization’s bid to ameliorate the lives and livelihoods of local communities within/across Lagos state.

Among dignitaries present were Hon. Tobun Abiodun, member, Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Epe Constituency, Professor A.O.K Noah, immediate past deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Lagos State University, Hon. Wale Mogaji, Chairman, Lagos State House of Assembly Commission as well as former Group Managing Director, Polaris Bank PLC and candidate in the upcoming Lagos state senatorial election, Tokunbo Abiru (represented by Bankole Abiru) including other notable dignitaries.

Highlights of the event included a lecture on charity by professor A.O.K Noah, presentation of humanitarian awards to the foundation’s sponsors patrons, donations and pledges from friends and supporters of the foundation as well as presentation of relief materials to representatives of relevant organizations.

In his remarks, the Director-General of the foundation, Hon. Garbadeen Olabode thanked members and stakeholders of the foundation for heeding the clarion call to lend a helping hand towards assuaging the plight of the less privileged. He further enjoined well meaning Nigerians to continue to pitch in their contributions to the collective quest to offer assistance to the indigent and disadvantaged in the society.

Olabode also expressed elation over the tremendous accomplishments of the foundation which includes five water projects across Lagos state, monthly food interventions targeted at feeding lepers, the blind and the crippled, end of the year festivities for widows and other less privileged across different geographical milieux, cash empowerment for indigenes and also swift response to emergency situations.

The foundation pledged further commitment towards its humanitarian cause by announcing a 14-month agenda geared towards providing more interventions to the less privileged in the society.
