Even In Death, Buruji Kashamu Actions Hound Kessington Adebutu, Baba Ijebu
Weeks after the passing away of billionaire Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kashamu Buruji, fresh facts have begun to emerge concerning his dealings with a friend turn foe.
Kashamu and Billionaire Kessington Adebutu enjoyed a splendid relationship until business dispute put them on a collision course and things fell apart.
You will recall that EkoHotBlog had reported that the central bank, on Friday, ordered the freezing of the account of Adebutu’s ubiquitous lottery company Premier Lotto better known as Baba Ijebu – and some other operators.
The apex Bank said it uncovered a slew of sharp practices by some companies who want to short-change the government.
The companies in question, 38 in number, are accused of moving forex to foreign countries without the permission of the government.
To this end, the apex bank directed banks to place a post-no-debit on the bank accounts of the 38 companies, including baba Ijebu.
The companies are being accused of forex infractions, moving forex abroad without the required authorisation and “economic sabotage”.
The September 4 memo signed by Bello Hassan, director of banking supervision, read: “You are hereby required to place the under listed accounts on post-no-debit with immediate effect and revert with the account names, numbers, currencies and balances of all accounts placed on PND”.

Information at hand revealed that this development is part of an comprehensive investigation into the allegation that Premier Lotto and others failed to remit mega-money inform of tax to the government.
Adebutu’s latest predicament is not unconnected to a petition by Western Lotto owned by Kashamu Buruji.
Buruji’s petition resulted in the questioning of Billionaire Adebutu’s son Segun who runs Premier Lotto by the anti-corruption agency Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) societynow.ng learned.
A report by PREMIUMTIMES in January revealed that Segun Adebutu, a director and some management staff of Premier Lotto were detained by the EFCC in course of the investigation in January 2020.
N5Billion tax fraud was bandied against Adebutu’s company as a result of the development.
Kashamu who later denied on Friday, August 8, 2020, stood by his petition then.
A leaked recording of the late politician’s ‘’Death-Bed’’ phone conversation with Billionaire Adebutu pleading for forgiveness over past actions was leaked after his burial.

The development caused a big blowback for the Adebutus as many interpreted the leak and the billionaire’s demeanor to mean ‘’gloating’’ over Kashamu’s helplessness in the face of death.
‘’What is clear is that whichever way you look at it, this is a major trouble that Kashamu brought on Adebutu because Premier Lotto is one of, if not the billionaire’s biggest sources of income’’ Societynow.ng learned.
