Popular Nigerian actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has achieved a significant milestone with her latest film, Everybody Loves Jenifa.
The movie has sold out two screens for its UK premiere on December 20, 2024, making it the first Nigerian film to accomplish such a feat in the United Kingdom.
Ekohotblog reports that Akindele took to her Instagram page on Sunday, December 15, to express her gratitude to her fans, whom she affectionately calls “Jenifans,” for their unwavering support.
She wrote: “Jenifans!!!!!!! You’ve outdone yourselves again. History made as the second screen for Everybody Loves Jenifa December 20th UK premiere is SOLD OUT.“
The Overwhelming response has demonstrated the growing influence of Nigerian cinema on a global scale.
The film’s international distributor, Nile Media Entertainment, confirmed the record-breaking sales and hinted at the possibility of adding more screens to accommodate the high demand.
Everybody Loves Jenifa continues the story of the beloved character Jenifa, as she embarks on new adventures that are sure to captivate audiences worldwide.
