David Umahi, governor of Ebonyi, has raised alarm over the incursion of those he described as ‘evil men’ into the state.

The prayer session organised by the government over the deepening security crisis in the state, south east and the country.
Umahi said he will not to give in amid overwhelming insecurity, nor will he stop visiting and inspecting ongoing projects.
He averred that the average Ebonyi residents was happy with his government and no one would accuse him of not fulfilling his mandate to the people.
“Evil men have infiltrated our state to kill, maim and kidnap but God would deliver us,” he said.
“I believe strongly that an average Ebonyi person is happy with our administration and no one would accuse us of not performing.
“God has not given us the spirit of fear and I ask: who is there to stop me?
“We will walk the streets of Abakaliki without security as I will become sick if I don’t go for projects’ inspection.”
