Evil spirit possessed me to rape 4-year-old girl, says 20-yr-old man

Sagir Umar, aged 20, who allegedly lured a four-year-old girl with N10 into his room where he raped her, said he was possessed by an evil spirit.

It was gathered that Sagir Umar committed the act in Abdulsalam Quarters in Minna, the state Capital on April 14.

The matter was reported to the police by the victim’s mother, one Fatima Aminu that Umar deceived her daughter and defiled her.

Umar, who had confessed to the crime, said: “It looks like evil spirit is controlling my life otherwise why should it happen? I cannot imagine myself sleeping with a four-year-old girl; it looks ridiculous that I found myself in this mess.

“How do I explain this to my parents that I raped a girl of four years? I think I deserve to go to jail and suffer the shame because it is unbelievable.”
