Former Senator representing Enugu East Senatorial District, Prince Gilbert Emeka Nnaji, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Eko Hot Blog reports that Nnaji, a founding member of the PDP, communicated his decision in a resignation letter dated December 26, 2026, addressed to the party leadership in Umuenwene Ward, Enugu East Local Government Area.

In the letter, the former lawmaker stated that after nearly three decades of loyalty, he could no longer remain in a party he described as beyond repair.
He explained that the PDP was originally built on principles of justice, unity and patriotism, but recent developments have eroded those ideals.

Nnaji said extensive consultations with family members, political associates and stakeholders across the country convinced him to seek a new platform to pursue national development.
According to him, the ADC presents a credible alternative with like-minded individuals committed to rebuilding Nigeria.
He is expected to formally declare for the ADC at a public event scheduled to hold in Enugu, marking a significant political shift in the South-East.
