On his return on Monday, his first visit was to the office of the VC, where he was given a warm reception by the Chairman, Governing Council of the Institution, Sir. David Sunmoni, FCA, KJW, and the current Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello.
The trio were soon joined by other members of the university management, DVC, Academic, Prof. Olufunsho Omobitan; DVC, Administration, Prof. Adenike Boyo; Registrar, Mr. Emmanuel A. FANU and Bursar, Mr. Said Babatunde Olayinka as well as the dean, faculty of Law, Prof. Kareem Olatoye, in a brief meeting.
“It was indeed a convivial atmosphere marked by mutual respect and admiration as the 8th and 9th helmsmen of the university exchanged warm handshakes and hugs with verbal anticipation of working together for the good of the university,” a statement issued by LASU said.
“I am committed to the success of the current administration. If the VC succeeds, then I, as her predecessor, would have been deemed to have succeeded. And if she fails, then I would have failed, “the former VC stated during the meeting.
“I am happy to be back at LASU. Thank you for receiving me. I can’t wait to return to class,” he added, before he was led away by the dean to the faculty of Law, where he would continue his primary assignment of teaching students.
Prof. Fagbohun, a professor of Environmental Law, was LASU VC between January 2016 and January 2021.
