A mother-of-four who posted anti-vax and anti-mask messages on social media has died after contracting COVID-19.
Forty-year-old Kristen Lowery, from Escalon, California, died ‘unexpectedly’ on September 15, according to a GoFundMe page set up to raise money to help pay for her funeral.
Screenshots taken from her Facebook profile, which has since been set to private, were posted on Reddit and other sites.
They include posts in which she labels herself ‘unmasked, unmuzzled, unvaccinated, unafraid’, as well as others declaring that she is a ‘free thinker’ and urging people to ‘question everything’.
One image shows her wearing a t-shirt proclaiming herself an ‘ex-vaxxer’ while holding up a placard reading ‘give a voice to the vaccine injured’.

Earlier this month, her sister, Cassie, posted an update on the website saying she was ‘in the hospital fighting for her life against COVID-19 and pneumonia’.
She added: ‘My sister has a long life left. We need you here, sissy. Your kids love and miss you so much. Please don’t give up.’
She also pointed our that the post was not ‘political’ and she had no interest in hearing anyone else’s views on vaccines.
In a further update last week, two relatives wrote that she had ‘died from covid’, with her aunt adding that her ‘heart is breaking for her 4 kids’.
She said: ‘So many people need her here, but God must have special plans for her in heaven.’
The GoFundMe page raised more than £8,000 ($11,000) for her funeral, with a loved one writing that news of her death has been ‘devastating to everyone that knew her’.
Other Facebook users were less sympathetic, with one commenting: ‘Why don’t people understand the importance of vaccines for everyone?’
Another wrote: ‘I have very little sympathy these days for people who choose not to get the vaccine and wear a mask.’
