Eko Hot Blog reports that Hon. Wale Raji, a member representing Epe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has facilitated three completed projects.
The projects include a 20-bed fully equipped healthcare centre in Iraye, 86 units of stalls with external fixtures at Mojoda Market, and a rehabilitated 1 km road with solar powered street light.
They were commissioned by the Deputy Governor of Lagos state, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, on Thursday, November 9, 2023.
In his welcome address, Hon. Raji thanked the people of Epe Federal Constituency for their overwhelming support in the February 2023 election.
The lawmaker noted that the people’s support will continue to motivate him to deliver more dividends of democracy.
“I want to appreciate the people of Epe federal constituency for the confidence they have in me and our great party APC during the 2023 general election,” he said.
“It is a privilege I hold in high esteem and will continue to make me to do more as their elected representative.
“Your decision to return me to the national assembly is what has given me the opportunity to follow up and complete the numerous projects we started in the 9th assembly which is what we are here today to celebrate.”
Hon. Raji further promised to execute and complete more projects within Epe division.
“I am also glad and want to tell you that more projects are being executed and many are in the pipeline. These projects were conceived to enhance the development of our community,” he said.
“He specially appreciated the president for his mentorship and chief of staff and former speaker, house of representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, for his support and cooperation towards the development of Epe division.”
On his part, Hamzat congratulated the Eredo community and appreciated the Epe community for massively supporting the ruling party during the 2023 general election.
“We are very glad to be here as the head of government of the people of Lagos, to rejoice with the people of Epe federal constituency, especially the people of Eredo LCDA on the commissioning of the various projects in Iraye, including the 20-bed fully equipped Iraye Healthcare Center, 86 units of stalls with external fixtures at Mojoda Market and 1 km road rehabilitation with solar powered street light at Oshiwola modernized Mojoda market facilitated by Hon. Tasir Wale Raji,” he said.
“Today’s event present an excellent opportunity for us and to thank the people of Epe federal constituency for giving us the biggest margin during election, they gave us the highest percentage during election. I want to thank you for the massive support.”
The deputy governor, who commissioned the new healthcare centre and other projects, admonished the people to make good use of them as he believed that the projects will have a multiplying effect.
Hamzat also reeled out the plans put in place by the Lagos government to enhance the health and welfare of Epe residents.
“We are currently building an accident and emergency centre at the general hospital, Epe. Three others will be replicated in other areas so that accident victims can quickly get treatment,” he said.
“I urge the royal fathers to visit the agricultural food and logistics hub being built within Epe which is one of the largest in Africa to get a glimpse of the vision of the government.”
Hamzat rounded off his speech by thanking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for including Lagos state in the supplementary budget passed recently.
The commissioning event was attended by various political and traditional leaders in the Epe Division, including the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Akin Abayomi; Aladeshonyin of Odo-Noforija Kingdom, Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja; Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo; Eredo LCDA chairman, Hon Monsuru Akinloye; the Member of Lagos State of Assembly for Epe Constituency II, Hon. Sylvester Ogunkelu, and Epe Local Government Chairman, Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun.
Other top attendees were APC Lagos State Chairman, Rev. Cornelius Ojelabi; GAC member and APC Apex-Leader, Epe Division, Alhaji Shakirudeen Akanni Seriki (Bamu), and former First Lady in Lagos State, Lady Doja Otedola.
