Eko Hot Blog reports that Eredo LCDA Chairman, Hon Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has promised a mega empowerment programme before the year runs out and before the first quarter of the year 2024.
He made the promise on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at the Children Christmas Funfair held at the Eredo LCDA secretariat, Eredo, Lagos State.
Speaking with reporters, Hon. Akinloye expressed joy seeing the future leaders being celebrated and was in awe at the numbers of children and adults that came for the funfair.
“I feel so much happy, seeing all the future leaders being here together in Eredo, Epe Division, Lagos state. We are here to celebrate all the children in Eredo LCDA. To my surprise I can see the other children from Epe local government, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA in Epe Division,” he said.
“We have influx of children and parents who have come to celebrate with their children. I’m very happy to be identified with them. There was a time we were like them, so it is good to celebrate them.”
The council boss spoke of the ways he, his wife and his team tried to spice up the children Christmas funfair by empowering over 200 people with money, gifts, grinding machines amongst others.
“I think this is the 3rd edition of this children’s funfair, the interest for parents in this year’s edition is second to known and at the same time we decided to add some spices to it. We have aged people and the widows, we want to give them incentives due to the high level of poverty in the country,” he stated.
“There are over 200 people that will be given financial palliatives and on ground we have grinding machine, gas cylinders and more to give out also, because whoever is given this grinding machine will experience good tidings.”
Akinloye admonished the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme to make good use of the palliatives given to them and not sell them, promising them mega empowerment in the first quarter of the year 2024.
“I’ll like to say this, they should make good use of it and not sell them. That’s why we have looked inward in the wards to give those that really need it. So I want them to make good use of it because many of these are still coming,” the Eredo LCDA chairman said.
“By February, I want to do mega empowerment for the entire local government. An empowerment that people will see and be wowed. This is coming by the special grace of God.”
Akinloye reiterated his happiness at celebrating the future leaders, and praying for the parents.
“Once again, I’m very happy. To God be the glory. The children are the future of tomorrow. We need to encourage them, we need to motivate them, we need to tell them that one day they will become the future leaders, they’ve been yearning for. God bless Eredo LCDA.To the parents, all their hard labour will be fruitful,” he said.
He further promised not to disappoint those that voted them into power and encouraged them to expect something bigger in this coming year.
“In this forthcoming Christmas and New year, the kind of palliatives we are going to give to people is going to be second to known in Lagos state. We are not going to disappoint those that elected us,” the council boss vowed.
“They’ve confidence in us, they have trust in us that is why they voted us in. We are not going to disappoint them, something bigger is coming up this Christmas and New year, also before the first quarter of the year 2024.”
Finally, he appreciated the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, and wished everyone a joyous festive season.
“I want to sincerely appreciate our doing good Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu and his Deputy. God bless them all. I wish everyone merry Christmas and a prosperous new year in advance,” Akinloye added.
