Facebook-Instagram
Facebook and Instagram had a major outage on Tuesday morning. According to Downdetector, many users started reporting problems around 9 a.m. ET.
Instagram users said the main issue was with the comments section. Even though comments were visible on their posts and stories, they could not open or read them. One user said, “I see comments, but when I click on them, it says no comments. When I add a comment, it disappears.”
Facebook users also faced problems. Some could not log in, while others already signed in had issues with the app and website. A user from Washington state reported, “I’m getting an error message when I try to log back in.” Another from Houston said, “Facebook is down here too.”
Other services, including Facebook Messenger, Instacart, Indeed, and Earthlink, also had problems starting around the same time.
The outage has affected users across the U.S., including states like Ohio, New York, Utah, and Washington.
About 60% of Instagram issues involve the comment section, while one-third of Facebook problems are related to logging in.
