Fake Madman in Ayetoro Regrets Criminal Past, Seeks Redemption Through Skill Training
EKO HOT BLOG reports that earlier last week, a popular madman named Wasiu, who has been roaming the streets of Ayetoro for the past three years, was apprehended by the United Community Security (U.C.S.).
Investigation revealed several items that should not have been found with a madman.
“We found human hair, ATM cards, and Indian hemp with the man, which shows that he was pretending to be mentally ill,” said one of the security personnel.
After thorough interrogation, it was discovered that he had been deceiving the community for years while engaging in various criminal activities alongside one Tajudeen Afeez.
The two suspects had been hijacking bikes from people and selling them.
Both suspects have been kept in the custody of security since the incident.
In an interview, Wasiu stated, “I regret ever involving myself in this kind of act, and I have really learned my lesson.”
“I am ready to learn a skill, specifically furniture making. I have always loved this work, and I promise to take it as a responsibility now,” he added.
The security unit has enrolled both of them in skill training immediately.
“We don’t just curb crimes; we also ensure that anyone caught in criminal acts is not only punished but also enrolled in a skill program,” another security officer said.
He noted that “this makes them useful to themselves and the community while also keeping them busy and helping to reorient their minds.”
