He calls for an overhaul of strategic communication to counter disinformation.
Ribadu stated that negative use of social media poses local and global threats.
It presents an immediate national security priority, according to him.
Ribadu delivered remarks in Abuja to security communication teams.
He instructed media managers in defense, security, and response agencies to change approach.
The NSA wants them to engage public and counter disinformation from enemies.
Spokespersons should address use of media, social media platforms that create division.
Ribadu highlighted prevalence of fake news, misinformation, and disinformation.
He identified them as hazards to national security and public involvement.
“Social media use by those seeking power shapes opinion against citizens,” Ribadu stated.
“This threat is global and local, an immediate national security priority.”

“Spokespersons have a critical role to play.”

“We must build narrative of resilience and mobilise our people,” Ribadu urged.
“Tell stories, sing praise of service personnel who protect us daily.”
“As spokespersons, you have critical role in effective governance communication,” Ribadu said.
“Project our results and reach audiences at home and abroad.”
“Countering fake news requires being ahead and proactively updating public.”
The NSA assured govt communication will align with President Tinubu’s vision.
Messages will be carefully coordinated to reflect national security objectives and values.
