EKO HOT BLOG reports that Nigerian singer and actor, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz the Bad Guy, was reportedly attacked by political thugs while he was at his polling unit in Ikate Lekki, Lagos to vote in the ongoing local government elections in the state.
According to an eyewitness, who shared the incident on social media, the singer and other voters were attacked and Falz’s phone was stolen.
The eyewitness also revealed that the ballot papers were being torn apart and scattered by area boys who could not take the support for the Labour Party.
The eyewitness called for emergency services and the intervention of the security and police at Ikate, adding that voters living close to the polling unit had gone back into their homes for safety.
The incident has sparked outrage on social media with many calling for the government to ensure the safety of voters during the elections. Falz is yet to make an official statement on the incident.
The local government elections are being conducted across Lagos state today, with voters turning out to elect officials to govern at the local level.
