Family, Friends Laud Theophilus Danjuma Yakubu, Wish Him Well On Birthday (Video)

Family and friends have chosen to hail Nigerian General, Theophilus Danjuma Yakubu also known as TDY, as he celebrates his 83rd birthday.

An unidentified lady in her show of love through a video displayed a couple of gift items that had been purchased for the politician as a surprise package.

While displaying the items, she expressed excitement in the level of relationship with TDY.

According to her, the gifts in their numbers would make him happy as choices were made available for him to pick the items as he wants and when he desires.

TDY amassed an enormous fortune through shipping and petroleum. He was Chief of Army Staff from July 1975 to October 1979.

He was commissioned into the Nigerian Army as a second lieutenant and platoon commander in the Congo. In 1963, he joined a UN Peace-keeping force in Sante, Katanga Province in Congo, he was promoted to the position of a captain three years later.

In 1966, Captain Danjuma was involved in the Nigerian Counter-Coup of 1966 with the 4th Battalion in Mokola, Ibadan. Oyo state In 1967, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel at the start of the civil war campaign towards Enugu, which was captured later that year. In December 1967, he was appointed Commander of the Nigerian Army’s 1st Infantry Brigade, a position he held till July 1968.

Since 1999 Danjuma has played an active role in Nigerian politics, whereby he was appointed as Minister of Defence to President Olusegun Obasanjo’s Cabinet in 1999, and in 2003 he was appointed as Chairperson for the investigative committee on the Warri conflict. 2010, TDY was nominated as Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Council by Acting President Goodluck Jonathan.

Danjuma who was born in Takum, Taraba State, is married to Daisy Danjuma.
