Eko Hot Blog reports that the Jegede Family has announced a Fidau prayer to celebrate the life of Alhaji Shafiriyu Aremu Jegede, an old member of the Epe Club, a prominent social club in Epe, Lagos State.
Alhaji Jegede, who was described as a “very upright person,” passed away on Friday, July 5, with a legacy of integrity.
His family announced that the Fidau prayer for Alhaji Jegede is scheduled for for 12th July, 2024 at his residence in Epe.
Fidau prayer is a traditional Islamic ceremony observed to pray for the departed soul and seek divine blessings.
Attendees will have the opportunity to reflect on Alhaji Jegede’s life and achievements through poignant speeches and tributes delivered by community leaders and family members.
He is survived by his wife, children and grand-children.
Speaking about his personality, a family member described him as a man who can be trusted and also stay true to principles.
“Every body knew him as a very upright person with integrity as a watchword in and outside of service,” they said.
The retired Director, Administration, in the Lagos State Ministry of Finance, was said to be a very close friend to Kabiyesi Shefiu Adewale, the Olu Epe of Epe Kingdom, and Chief Adisa, the Osi-Efa of Epe Kingdom.
As preparations for the fidau prayer event enter their final stages, the organizing committee extends an open invitation to all members of the Epe community to join in honouring the memory of Alhaji Jegede.
