Dozens of Nigerians are currently erupting social media spaces following President Buhari’s one-week holiday to his native Daura at a time the country seems to be facing unceasing insecurity crises.
Eko Hot Blog had earlier reported that President Buhari last week embarked on a one-week visit to his country home in Daura, after which chaos erupted not far from the President’s home as armed gunmen raided Government Science School, Kankara, abducting scores of students in the process.
President Buhari has also come into fierce criticism after graphic images emerged of him playing herdsman to his cattle, the interpretation being that he values his cows much more than the Nigerian lives he swore to protect.

Reacting via her Twitter handle, renowned activist and chaperone of the #BringBackOurGirls movement, Aisha Yesufu, excoriated the President for showing obvious priority to his cattle despite the country’s dire state of affairs.
She wrote: “Buhari has turned C-In-C to Commander-in-chief of Cows. His cows are more important to him than the lives of people he asked and begged to govern”.
Also reacting, former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode lamented that it does not echo well for the Buhari’s Presidency for him to be holidaying at home at the same time the first lady is also vacationing in Dubai.
“The President is in his home town of Daura having “a rest”, the First Lady is in Dubai due to security challenges in the Presidential Villa, the Chief Justice has Covid 19, the Chief of Army Staff is in isolation, a number of Army Generals have Covid 19. These are bad omens” The former aviation minister wrote on Twitter.
