Fani-Kayode describes gunmen attack in Osun as ‘barbaric and unacceptable’

  • Gunmen killed a family of six in Wasinmi in Osun State
  • Fani-Kayode condemns those actions
  • Fani-Kayode supports President Buhari’s orders to shoot anyone in possession of AK-47 riffles

Former Nigerian aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode has spoken out against the recent attack by gunmen which occurred in Osun State over the weekend, killing a family of six.

EKO HOT BLOG had gathered that the family were killed late on Saturday when the gunmen raided a farming settlement in Wasinmi village, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun.

They stormed the farming settlement and opened fire on people around and six persons, suspected to be cattle herders were all gunned down.

“Gunmen in Osun went to the home of an innocent & defenceless Fulani herdsman & killed him & 6 of his family members yesterday,” Fani-Kayode said in a Twitter post.

“This is barbaric & unacceptable. Those that indulge in such cruel & callous acts are as bad as the foreign Fulani terrorists that kill our people.”

Insecurity problems have been on a rapid rise in different parts of Nigeria, making it difficult for some citizens to go about their businesses and daily activities as they would like.

President Muhammadu Buhari recently gave a directive to the army to shoot on sight anyone caught illegally possessing AK-47 rifles in forests where gunmen, bandits and other armed groups are known to hide. In a separate Tweet, Fani-Kayode, who is often very vocal and highly outspoken of the head of state, says he agrees with Buhari’s orders.

“Great! Now he is talking! I agree with this 100%. Every terrorist must be shot. Full deployment and mobilisation of our troops against the terrorists. Let us finish this once and for all. I am with Mr President all the way on this. We must get our country back!,” Fani-Kayode stated.
