Fasuba’s daughter Sets Sights on Indoor Records
Annabelle Fasuba, the 13-year-old daughter of former Nigerian sprinting legend Olusoju Fasuba, is on track to set a new indoor club record across three age categories in the 60m event.
Eko Hot Blog reports that she achieved this remarkable feat after clinching her first senior title at the Sutcliffe Indoor 60’s and 60m hurdles competition in London on Sunday.
Competing against U-23 athletes, Annabelle delivered an impressive performance, winning her initial 60m race with a time of 7.61 seconds and securing victory in the final with a time of 7.65 seconds.

Her father, Olusoju Fasuba, an African record holder and former Nigerian sprint champion expressed immense pride in her achievements, celebrating her latest milestone with joy.
“At just 13 years old, Annabelle Fasuba achieved a remarkable milestone by winning her first indoor 60m competition in 7.61 seconds, competing against under-23 athletes. She went on to secure victory in the finals with a time of 7.65 seconds, despite her spikes giving way shortly before the race,” Fasuba wrote on Facebook.
According to him, her time of 7.61 seconds will set a new record in the UK while she also becomes the number one U-15 female sprinter in the UK for the 2025 season.
“Her time of 7.61 seconds, once ratified, will establish a new club record across three age categories: under-15 (previously 8.11 seconds), under-17, and under-20 (both previously 7.90 seconds).
“This performance also positions Annabelle as the number one under-15 female sprinter in the UK for the 2025 season. An extraordinary start to the new season.”
Annabelle Fasuba rose to prominence earlier this year by setting two UK records in the U-15 Girls 100m and 200m events within a single week in May.

At the Devon County AA Track and Field Championships, she delivered outstanding performances, setting records in both the 100m and 200m. In the 100m, she clocked 12.11 seconds—just 0.02 seconds shy of her personal best—to secure victory. She also dominated the 200m, recording a new personal best of 25.02 seconds, which not only became the new championship record but also stood as the fastest time of the day across all age categories for the event.
Her father, Olusoju Fasuba, is a celebrated sprinter who won the African Championships title in 2004 and contributed to Nigeria’s bronze medal in the 4x100m relay at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
