Ayodele Fayose, former governor of Ekiti state, has lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari for scoffing at his summon by the national assembly.
Eko Hot Blog recalls that on December 1, the House of representatives, after a heated session, agreed to summon Buhari over rising insecurity in the country.
After meeting with the president at Aso Rock, Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the house, said that Buhari had agreed to meet with the lawmakers.
The president was expected to address a joint session of the national assembly on Thursday.
But on Wednesday, Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation (AGF), said the national lacks the constitutional power to summon the president.
He noted that the details of security operations are confidential, hence can’t be divulged to the public.
Reacting to the development in a series of tweets on Thursday, Fayose, a vociferous critic of the president, said he’s always maintained that Buhari is a dictator and that his refusal to address the national assembly on state of the nation has further reinforced his assertion.
He added that Buhari does not have regard for the Judiciary and legislature.
Fayose averred that Nigerians were misled to have elected Buhari, adding that Nigerians should be apologized to for being deceived.

“I said it on December 1, that President Buhari won’t honour the House of Reps invitation on the worsened security situation in the country. Truly he didn’t. With a democratically elected President who does not have regard for other arms of govt,- how else do you describe a dictator,” Fayose wrote.
“Before and after 2015, those of you who were opposed to my views on the Buhari’s Presidency then cannot but agree today that Nigerians were misled to have elected him. Methinks they should publicly apologize for misleading Nigerians just like others have been doing.”
