Addressing residents, Wike called for support from the community in providing relevant information that would aid in the apprehension of kidnappers and criminals in the FCT. He emphasized his administration’s commitment to combating insecurity and revealed his directive to the council chairman to profile and establish vigilante groups.

Wike stated, “We are going to tackle insecurity head-on. These bandits and criminals, their time is up. I know some of the criminal informants are here listening to me, and if you are an informant, you will die the same way those people you are informing will die. You have the opportunity to repent today, or else you are gone. Nobody will pity you.”

The minister urged residents not to fear and assured them that the security agencies were prepared to address the challenges. He emphasized the need for collaboration between the community and security agencies, encouraging residents to provide information without hesitation.

In response to the state of roads in the Kuje Area Council, Wike expressed shock and promised to revisit the council’s file to ensure the construction of improved roads for the community. He pledged to complete ongoing projects for the benefit of the residents.

The Gomo of Kuje, Alhaji Haruna Jibrin, added his voice to the conversation, urging the minister to establish either an Army or Mobile Police barracks in Kuje village, where kidnappers have been active. He pledged the support of traditional rulers and the people of Kuje Area Council in the fight against insecurity.

As the FCT Minister takes decisive measures to address security challenges, the community’s collaboration and information sharing are seen as crucial elements in the efforts to enhance safety and curb criminal activities in the region.
