According to the police, these false claims triggered separate incidents of mob violence, potentially endangering innocent lives in the country’s capital city.

FCT Commissioner of Police, Haruna Garba, explained, “The FCT Police Command has documented more than ten (10) cases of alleged male organ disappearance throughout the Territory, along with the escalating incidents of mob violence by enraged youths.”

“It was only through the intervention of the Police Command that loss of life and property was prevented, and law and order were restored.”

“Fourteen (14) suspects who alleged that their male organs had disappeared were taken to the Hospital, where the Medical Doctor confirmed that their male organs were intact and functioning.”

“As a result, they have been charged with providing false information and inciting public disturbance.”

CP Garba urged FCT residents to educate their children and wards against raising false alarms and to refrain from resorting to vigilante justice or mob violence, which could lead to the loss of innocent lives.

In other successes, police operatives from Kabusa Division apprehended a wanted kingpin, Adamu Idris, responsible for several kidnappings in specific areas. Idris was tracked down at Okada junction Kabusa after attempting to evade capture. He is cooperating with the police to apprehend other gang members.

Additionally, a case in September involved the arrest of two individuals, Auwal Wada and Suleiman Hassan, who had threatened to kidnap a resident and his family if they were not paid a ransom. The police successfully apprehended them during a ransom exchange.

Lastly, police operatives from Mabushi Division arrested four suspected armed robbers who had been robbing motorists during traffic jams. These suspects confessed to their crimes, and various items were recovered from them, including a getaway golf car, iPhones, ATM cards, and suspected cocaine.
