The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Ajao S. Adewale, has commenced a three-day Community Outreach to mark National Police Day 2025. The event, running from April 3rd to 5th, aims to foster stronger police-community relations and promote public safety.
EKOHOTBLOG reports that this year’s theme, “Say NO to Crime,” emphasizes the joint responsibility of law enforcement and the public in tackling social vices such as cultism, drug abuse, sexual and gender-based violence, cybercrime, and kidnapping.

The outreach kicked off with a Clean-Up Exercise on April 3rd, underscoring the role of a clean and safe environment in enhancing community security. Commissioner Adewale, accompanied by officers of the FCT Police Command, led the clean-up at Lagos Street, Garki, and the Palace of the Sa’peyi of Garki. This effort reflects the command’s dedication to community engagement beyond policing duties.

Commissioner Adewale expressed his appreciation to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for his visionary leadership in modernizing and reforming the Nigeria Police Force. He noted that the IGP’s initiatives continue to inspire officers to strengthen their ties with the communities they serve.
