Eko Hot Blog reports that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command cracked down on child trafficking, apprehending two suspects and rescuing five underage children from their grasp.

The Command identified the suspects as Kulu Dogonyaro and Elizabeth Ojah, intercepting them at Kagini Junction in Abuja while they attempted to transport the minors into the nation’s capital.
According to the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the vigilant officers swiftly apprehended the suspects after they initially tried to evade arrest.
“Our eagle-eyed officers in Abuja finally apprehended the suspects, who initially attempted to escape arrest from the Sokoto Police operatives,” Adeh stated.
The Command handed over the rescued children, aged between six and 12 years, to the Sokoto State Police Command for further investigation and eventual reunification with their families.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth C. Igweh, emphasized the collaborative effort in a statement, saying, “We are working closely with our counterparts in Sokoto State to ensure that the children are safely returned to their loved ones.”
Igweh urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the police.
He reiterated, “We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of all residents, especially our children.”

The Command currently holds the apprehended suspects in police custody and will prosecute them upon the completion of investigations.
