Federal Government Reaffirms Commitment To N35,000 Minimum Wage Award Implementation
She assured stakeholders that the government would continue to engage with them on unfulfilled agreements, both current and past.
The President of the Trade Union Congress, Comrade Festus Osifo, commended the government for fulfilling 80% of the agreement with the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria.
While acknowledging the positive steps taken, Osifo urged the government to complete the remaining 20% of that agreement.
- “We are not a union that waits for the government to fail to hold it to ransom. That is why we keep engaging,” Osifo stated.
The government’s commitment to addressing wage concerns and fostering a collaborative relationship with trade unions was reinforced during the meetings, emphasizing a commitment to fulfilling agreements for the greater welfare of the people.
