Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia: Vice Chancellor and Governing Council Inaugurated

Leadership Inaugurated: Prof. Qurix Williams Barnabas appointed as Vice Chancellor alongside the Governing Council and Principal Officers.
Opening in 2025: The university is on track to welcome its first students for the 2025/2026 academic year, boosting education access in Southern Kaduna.
Government Support: Appreciation extended to Vice President Kashim Shettima, Kaduna State Governor, and the Chief of Defence Staff for their roles in advancing the project and ensuring security.

In our ongoing efforts to establish the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, Kaduna State, I’m pleased to announce that we have inaugurated the University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Qurix Williams Barnabas; Principal Officers and Governing Council.

The establishment of a Federal University in Southern Kaduna, is of great significance to the people of Southern Kaduna.

In full alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s plan for education, the Federal University of Applied Sciences will provide the citizens of Kaunda, especially those in the south, with better access to education, job and career opportunities, better learning environments and in turn provide a positive impact the growth of Southern Kaduna.

With an inaugurated Governing council the university is on track to open its doors to students by the start of the 2025/2026 academic year.

I would like to reiterate my gratitude to Vice President His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima, for his leadership in bringing this project to fruition, extend my thanks to the Governor of Kaduna, @GovKaduna, for his unwavering dedication to enhancing education in his state and improving the lives of his constituents.

As well as thank the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gabwin Musa, @DHQNigeria, for his commitment ensure the safeguarding of the university and its students once the it’s doors opens.
