FFK Backs Yahaya Bello’s Presidency Bid, Says Nigeria Needs Strong & Decisive Leadership
- There have been ongoing debates about the zoning – a rotational arrangement between the six geopolitical zones – of the presidency for the forthcoming 2023 elections
A former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has thrown his weight behind the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, to emerge the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 general elections.
Fani-Kayode, in a tweet via his verified twitter handle, argued that the North-Central Zone has never produced a democratically-elected president, saying that the idea that the geopolitical zone should settle for another position is absurd.
He tweeted: “The idea that Gov. Yahaya Bello should not run for the Presidency & that the NC zone, which has never produced a democratically-elected President, ought to settle for another position is absurd. Nigeria needs strong & decisive leadership, a generational change & a bridge-builder.”

Recall that Fani-Kayode had, in 2018 while reacting to a statement made by the Kogi Governor, wrote on twitter: “When I wrote that this boy was a useful idiot and an accursed slave some said I was being harsh. Truth is that he is worse than that. His mental faculties are non-functional.”

Some twitter users have however reacted to the recent tweet with some quoting former President Obasanjo who had said about Fani-Kayode that if given food, “he will praise and sing for you.”

Dear @realFFK , I should think your reputation, should be considered before selling them out for cheap repute from @OfficialGYBKogi Which in your own words in 2018 referred to him as a Mental Psychiatric Man.
We understand your Political nature and the need to remain relevant.

Strong and decisive leadership 😂😂😂😂
The same leadership Kogi State is presently witnessing right?
My Aunt, a level 8/2 Civil servant at the local Government collected 3,700 Naira as her 30 percent payment for February but this shouldn't concern you,— Mr. Ojodale (@I_am_Ojodale) April 11, 2021
@realFFK you've truly lost it. I used to take serious and always thought you were a patriot. Now I know your patriotism is only to yourself and you stomach. I'm so pained to find out OBJ was right in his assessment of your person and character. So so 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

Last I checked, Kogi is North Central: that's still North, no matter how much politicking you intend to play. Buhari is from the North. Isn't it an unwritten rule that power be rotated between North and South?
Do I expect anything different? Not from you. I am not disappointed

If Yahaya Bello is the candidate for the @OfficialAPCNg . It's better we just jejely give all our votes to @atiku at once. Gov Bello will be much worse off than @MBuhari. The devil 😈 you know is way better than that angel you're seeing or know

Dude, you’ve travelled the world, loved several women, eaten at the table with powerful men, held numerous positions, interfaced with great organizations, and somehow in 2021 find it conscientious to look at the complexity of Nigeria’s problems and table YB as a solution?

The former minister’s recent tweet might confirm speculations that he is planning a defection to the ruling APC ahead of the 2023 general elections.
