“By this waiver, all Nigerians, subscribers and applicants can access the service using the *346# code for their NIN retrieval at no charge for the duration of the NIN/SIM Card integration exercise,” the statement said.

Eko Hot Blog had reported a few days ago that the federal government through the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) had instructed telcos to suspend sim registration and mandate all their subscribers to provide valid NIN to update their records.

In reaction, the House of Representatives called on the NCC to extend the December 31st deadline issued to sim card owners, citing the difficulties experienced by Nigerians whille trying to enrol for the NIN.
